An AI receptionist
for ServiceM8

The number on the side of your van is the one you have been handing out for years. Nothing about answering it better should require changing it.

An AI receptionist for ServiceM8. It recognises the caller, looks their job up, lodges the next one with the address on it, and leaves the number painted on your van exactly where it is.

What it does with ServiceM8

It knows who is ringing

The caller is matched against your ServiceM8 clients from the number they rang on, so a regular is greeted by name instead of being asked to spell it again.

It answers questions about their job

Somebody ringing to ask where their job is up to gets an answer on the call rather than a promise that someone will ring back.

It lodges the next job

With the address on it, in ServiceM8, while the detail is still fresh and correct.

You keep your number

Your existing line diverts. Nothing gets reprinted, no signage changes, and nobody has to be told a new number.

What it will not do

Worth knowing before you buy rather than after. Every connection has edges, and pretending otherwise only moves the disappointment later.

The ServiceM8 connection is set up with you against your own account rather than switched on from a list.

Caller recognition depends on the number they ring from. A withheld number or a new mobile is a new contact, which is the same limit any caller-ID lookup has.

It lodges jobs and answers about them. It does not reschedule somebody else’s existing booking.

Questions

Do I have to change my number?

No. Your existing number diverts to the receptionist, either always or only when you do not pick up. The number on your van stays the number on your van.

Will it recognise a customer who has rung before?

Yes, when they ring from a number already on their ServiceM8 client record. It greets them by name and can answer where their job is up to.

Is ServiceM8 supported in New Zealand?

Yes, though ServiceM8 is far more common across the Tasman. Either way the calls are answered on a local number in the country the business is in.
